My first attempt at full painting in acrylic using a palette knife. I copied a vertical painting I saw then extended it to make a strong horizontal.
Painted from a photo, this shot is one of many I took while on a business trip in California. So I could not stop for plein-air painting or sketches but I still like to paint the views.
Just some quick little watercolors. Fun to do and if they don’t work out you can just toss them. They look beautiful with a wide frame of old barn wood.
The beautiful root beer river water of the waterfalls on the North Shore of Minnesota are a site to behold and a joy to paint.
